Lake Wapogasset Retreat
In 1940 my husband’s grandparents purchased this sweet cabin on beautiful Lake Wapogasset in Wisconsin. As it passed through three generations it morphed into several iterations of a family lake scene. Not long after I started dating my husband, he approached me to design a new kitchen for his cozy cabin. The kitchen was tiny with dated laminate counter tops and tattered vinyl floor.
This was a memorable project for me and my husband. We updated and revitalized many of the home’s tired and worn surfaces, modified doorways to expand the kitchen, added beams, and new cabinets. Nodding to his family’s heritage I have named it our Swedish Farmhouse since it all started with a couple Swedes.
